I’m joined today by Jon Tolley.

Jon is the co-owner of Banquet Records, an independent record store in Kingston. Jon is somewhat of a local celebrity in Kingston, famed for bringing the likes of Mumford & Sons, the 1975 and Shawn Mendes to town. Jon grew up in the area and started working at Banquet Records after university. He bought the store with his business partners 13 years ago.

What's unique about Jon is how he and his team have managed Banquet Records’ continuing success, when other record shops are closing down at an alarming rate, with a multifaceted approach to the business - which I’m sure other independent retailers could learn a lot from.
